BIOGRAPHY
Daniel Olmo Carvajal is a Spanish attacking midfielder and winger who plays for Barcelona and the Spain national team. A product of Barcelona’s academy (La Masia), he joined at the age of nine from Espanyol. However, at 16, Olmo unexpectedly left Catalonia and in 2014 signed a contract with Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb — a move that was considered risky at the time.
Dinamo Zagreb (2014–2020)
He made his first-team debut in February 2015. Over six seasons, he made 124 appearances, scored 34 goals and won:
- 5 Croatian League titles
- 3 Croatian Cups
In 2018, he was named the Croatian League Player of the Year, and in the 2018–19 season — both Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year. In the Champions League, he scored against Shakhtar and Manchester City.
RB Leipzig (2020–2024)
In January 2020, he joined RB Leipzig. He quickly became an important player for the team:
- Champions League semi-final 2019–20
- German Cup victories (2022, 2023)
- German Super Cup win 2023 (hat-trick against Bayern)
He performed consistently, combining creativity, mobility and productivity.
Return to Barcelona (since 2024)
On August 9, 2024, he returned to his boyhood club, signing a six-year contract (around €60 million).
He made his debut on August 27, 2024 — coming off the bench and scoring the winning goal against Rayo Vallecano. He quickly became a key player in the attacking line.
