Fenerbahçe are accelerating their work on the transfer market ahead of the new season. The Yellow-Navy Blues have already made Al Hilal striker Aleksandar Mitrović their priority target and have begun initial talks with his entourage.

The 30-year-old forward, who also plays for the Serbian national team, moved to the Saudi Arabian league in August 2023, but is now seriously considering a return to Europe. Mitrović wants to prove himself again at the highest club level and to approach the 2026 World Cup as a leader of a European side that regularly competes for trophies and plays in continental competitions.

The European Route Appeals to the Player

A source close to the Serbian marksman says the footballer is “very keen” on continuing his career in one of the leading leagues of the Old Continent. At the same time, the Turkish giants are not the only contenders: Milan are also interested in Mitrović. The Italians are closely studying his contract situation and, according to journalists, could take official action in the coming weeks.

Statistics Speak for Themselves: 79 matches — 68 goals and 15 assists

Mitrović’s contract with Al Hilal runs until June 2026, and his current market value is estimated at roughly 19.4 million dollars. Over the past two seasons the Serb has played 79 official matches, scoring 68 times and providing 15 assists, confirming his status as one of the most productive forwards in Asian football.

Mitrović’s height, dominance in the air, ability to strike effectively with both feet and composure inside the box make him a valuable asset for any club. It is therefore no surprise that Al Hilal’s coaching staff have included him in the squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, where the Riyadh team aim to compete for medals.

Fenerbahçe, determined to reclaim the Süper Lig title and succeed on the continental stage, believe the experienced goalscorer can become the missing link in their attack. Negotiations are still at an early stage, but the Istanbul outfit hope to close the deal this summer, giving the head coach enough time to integrate the player into the team’s system before the season kicks off.

The only question is whether the Canaries can persuade Al Hilal to part with their leader and fend off competition from Milan. We will find out the answer in the upcoming transfer window.
