During a break between practices we caught up with Jimmy Butler—the forward who juggles the ball and metaphors with equal flair. What began as a light joke about Golden State suddenly turned into a mini play: Butler kept handing out roles as though he were dishing passes around the perimeter.

“We’re Back on the Peak” — Jimmy’s View of the Upcoming Season

Question: Jimmy, how do you assess the team’s form heading into the season opener?

Butler: “I guarantee we’ll enter this season on fire. Robin (he nods at himself) will quietly pick everyone clean while Batman (Steph Curry) takes center stage. We’re a team that rises, not falls.”

Draymond as the Batmobile — Strange but It Works

Question: Why use the Batmobile to describe Green?

Butler: “You see, Draymond isn’t just the engine of our defense. He gets us to the destination: he smothers shots, sets blocks, jump-starts the break, and—if necessary—does a somersault and shields us from the flames. That’s an armored vehicle for you!”

“Who Else Did We Sign? Uh …” — Roster Problems

Question: Can you name the other Warriors players?

Butler: (laughing): “Curry, Green … hmm, Buddy Hield! After that—white noise. Honestly, my memory slips. But hey, we’re still dangerous—even if I don’t know everyone’s last name.”

Buddy Hield’s Mysterious Trip to China

Question: You mentioned Hield stopped by China. What was he doing there?

Butler: “No clue, but the fans there adore him. Maybe he just wanted to feel the southern sun. The main thing is they welcome him, and I’m always ‘in’ for a good three-pointer no matter where it comes from.”

While most players practice in the quiet of the gym, Butler turns every word into a show. And if his self-irony matches his form on the hardwood, fans are in for a season packed with comic-book action and high-scoring comebacks.
