BIOGRAPHY

Nicolas Jackson was born on 20 June 2001. The question of his exact place of birth remained a subject of debate for a long time: some sources list Banjul (The Gambia), while the official profiles of Chelsea and Bayern identify Djibonker (Senegal). He was born to a Gambian father and a Senegalese mother. In 2017, following political instability in The Gambia, the family moved to Ziguinchor (Senegal), where Jackson continued to develop as a footballer.

He took his first steps in football at the local club ASC Tilene, after which he joined Casa Sports. In the 2018–19 season he was already included in the first-team squad and attracted the attention of scouts from European clubs.

In 2019, Jackson signed a contract with Spanish side Villarreal. He initially played for the youth teams, then went out on loan to Mirandés (Segunda División), where he gained his first professional experience. After returning, he played an important role for Villarreal B, helping the team earn promotion, and in 2021 he made his La Liga debut.

In the 2022–23 season, he established himself in Villarreal’s starting XI and impressed in the spring of 2023, scoring nine goals in April and May. In January of that year, his transfer to Bournemouth collapsed due to health issues, but in the summer of 2023 he joined Chelsea for £32 million, signing a long-term contract.

In his debut Premier League season he scored 14 goals, became one of the league’s highest-scoring African players, and netted a hat-trick against Tottenham. In 2024, his contract was extended until 2033. In May 2025, he helped Chelsea win the UEFA Europa Conference League, scoring in the final.

In September 2025, Jackson joined Bayern (Munich) on loan. Later that same month, he scored his first goal for the German club in the UEFA Champions League.

At international level, Jackson made his debut for Senegal in 2022 and took part in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as well as the Africa Cup of Nations in 2023 and 2025, winning the tournament in the latter case.

PERSONAL LIFE

Nicolas Jackson keeps a low profile and rarely shares personal details on social media. He emphasizes that family plays a key role in his life—especially his mother, whom he regards with great respect and gratitude for her support in his early years.

He grew up between The Gambia and Senegal, which shaped a resilient and disciplined character. The family’s move in 2017 became an important milestone in his life, after which he focused on his professional career.

Jackson is known as a calm and reserved person off the pitch. He prefers spending time with those close to him and avoids excessive public attention. In interviews, he has noted that he uses criticism as a source of motivation and strives to stay focused on developing as a player.
