BIOGRAPHY
Marcus Thuram is a French forward playing for Inter Milan and the France national team. He began his professional career in 2015 with FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, where he spent three seasons in Ligue 2.
Early Career
He made his debut on March 20, 2015, in a match against Châteauroux. In total, he played 43 matches for the club and scored one goal.
Move to En Avant Guingamp
In July 2017, he transferred to En Avant Guingamp, which competed in Ligue 1. In January 2019, he converted a stoppage-time penalty and knocked Paris Saint-Germain out of the Coupe de la Ligue. Overall, he spent two seasons at the club.
Time at Borussia Mönchengladbach
On July 22, 2019, he signed a contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach for €12 million. In his debut season, he scored the winning goal in the German Cup and also netted a brace in the Bundesliga.
On October 27, 2020, he scored twice in a UEFA Champions League match against Real Madrid. In the 2022–23 season, he recorded 10 goals in 15 Bundesliga matches, equaling his personal best. At the end of the season, he left the club as a free agent.
Transfer to Inter
On July 1, 2023, he became an Inter player, signing a contract until June 2028. In his first season, he scored 13 goals and provided 13 assists, winning the Italian championship.
PERSONAL LIFE
Marcus was born in Parma during the period when his father was playing for the local club. His father is the legendary French defender Lilian Thuram. His younger brother, Khéphren Thuram, is also a professional footballer and plays for Juventus FC and the France national team.
Thuram was named after Jamaican activist Marcus Garvey. He has Guadeloupean roots through his father.
Despite his father playing for Juventus and Barcelona, he supported AC Milan and Real Madrid as a child.
